UPE/ACM/RCOS Programming Competition

Welcome to the home page for the ACM/RCOS/UPE coding competition. The coding competition will be on Saturday, November 7, 2009. The competition will take place between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. Results will be announced after 5:00pm when all results are tabulated.

Awards for participants submitting C/C++/Java solutions will be (ordered by place value) (subject to change):

  1. 32GB iPod Touch, $100 Amazon.com Gift Check, and an interview with Bloomberg.

This semester, the competition will be modified to allow submissions in languages other than C/C++/Java and awards will be given for solutions in these new languages.

Awards for participants submitting other solutions (subject to change):

  1. Master Snake-Wrangler: Most Python solutions
  2. Parensenmaster: Most Lisp/Scheme solutions
  3. The Immovable Object: Most x86 and/or MIPS solutions
  4. The Grand Logician: Most Prolog solutions
  5. The Caveman/Woman: Most Bash solutions
  6. Pathologically Eclectic Rubbish Linguist: Most Perl solutions
  7. Returnophobic: Most solutions submitted as a a single statement

The manner in which these solutions will be graded will be announced closer to the contest. When we decide upon which interpreters we will be using we will update this page.

Eligibility: You must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled at RPI to register. To participate in the contest, you must be among the first sixty contestants to register for the contest.
